so im using mouse targeting and there seems to be a small bug when you target one enemy then switch targets the cursor stays on the original target instead of spawning on the new selected target. any way to fix this?

  • Are you talking about group/individual target selection or the action target selection (e.g. in battle menus)?
When selecting the target for an action with mouse/touch input, the target will be used right away for the action, there's no target switching there.

  • there is if you have target selection set up to use mouse controls only if i click on one target and then switch my target the target prefab that spawns over there head does not switch to the new target. spells and attacks will, but not the icon

  • I usually disable target cursor with mouse / touch: you can click directly on the enemy, or you can use battle menu sub-window for targeting. About your problem, maybe it would sort it using an option like "select first", as in GUI boxes, but i don't know if it is available when selecting directly the combatant while fighting...

  • Uhm what's the purpose of the cursor when you can simply click on the target?
Actually, i wanted the cursor too in my little 2D game but letting the player just click on enemies was enough, isn't it suitable for you? Do you want the cursor to have the player clicking two times on targets (one for selecting, one for casting)?
  • @Kaemalux is there an issue with me wanting a cursor to mark enemies? and its a necessity for my game. dont see why your trying to tell me other wise not your game dude. so back off a bit.

  • Chill out @wtyson , i was just curious, as i am setting up some different prototypes for 2D mobile games and i was just trying to understand which kind of settings you were aiming for, as it could have helped me too. Nevermind, good luck with your game.
  • @Kaemalux

sorry but this line here that you wrote is what kinda ticked me off.

im not trying to be mean. its just when someone is asking a question. its not good to question there reasoning's for wanting something. im not ready to fully release alot of my stuff yet to the public this games been ton of work with custom c# scripts , makinom schematics and ork, ect... so alot of the gameplay i dont want to talk about which this is one of them :)

  • I am sorry, being Italian (and particularly tired this morning) i must have seemed harsh about your doubt, but it was totally unwilling. My exact mean was simply to understand the needing of the cursor (as i said i had that problem too, but i simply ignored it), i totally didn't want to offend you and surely my question was bad placed. :)

Now let's back to your development and just wait for GiL to save the day. ^^
  • @Kaemalux No problems . And hopefully GIL will have a answer . "prays to the almighty ORK GOD"

  • Again - when using click/touch for selecting the target of an action, the action will be used right away, there's no time/need for switching the cursor.
If you want the cursor (for the time until you click on a target) to be on the target you've clicked the last time, you need to enable the Select Last Target in the battle menu you're using (even when you don't use the menu itself).

For group/individual targets, tested it and works fine.
