Having trouble getting mecanim falling animation to play, I've tried using crossfade for the falling animation.

  • In case you're using auto animations to play the fall animation on your combatant, you'll need to use a Character Controller for movement to recognize being on the ground or not.

  • I'm using auto animations. I set up a test combatant and, falling still doesn't work.

    And what's your auto animation setup? E.g. fall time :)
    Also, try enabling Use Position Change in your combatant's movement settings.

    Disabling Position Change fixed the falling animations for me. =)
