i followed the mecanim animation controller tutorial thats on this site now if i drop the prefab into the level an hit play from start menu the npc will play its idle animation but if i take it out an spawn it as a battle npc to fight against it stays in tpose an dosent play any animations. im using legacy animations on my main character an all the animations work fine but the npc only has mecanim animations. am i missing something on how to activate these animations even though they use the same animation types an are set up so that each state has its own trigger except for idle run walk... if some one can help me out with this that be great thanx

  • Is the used combatant set to use Mecanim animations and has the correct animation settings selected (that use mecanim not legacy)?

  • Go to Combatants Menu, combatants tab, and scroll all the way down to Animations & Movement. Change system type to Mecanim, Animations chose your mecanim setup Base/Control Menu, Animations. Then disable use battle.
  • I figured it out as i went to take screen shots for some reason the transition from anystate to the the animation states were cleared out after reconnecting them an setting there param its all working now. but thanks for the help anyways :)
