Name of game changed. Since new art style brought on a new story line for me. Art Style Now changed to Sword and Sworcery Style. New character Name is Joe... hes bald :P Will post some vids when i finish a bunch of the art and code for it. probably wont be for a few months, since my work project is almost in pre alpha which means tons of testing and coding for me to do :( . i will be deleting all vids and pictures that are obsolete from this thread.
More details to come on game once i start posting work progress.
@Kaemalux i dropped unity all together. i was using the assets i had for my old unity game that i had bought but. few weeks back i got aggravated with the assets not matching up to what i wanted or the dev's just rushing their work and started modeling my own stuff. so now im in the middle of working on 2 different solo projects plus one more for work. modeling stuff is taking a bit of time so i decided to stick together a 2d game since i have been making the stuff for it pretty quickly since i just learned how to do 2d art 2 days ago.
Also the atmosphere for this game is not what you think it is just yet ^^. once i get more stuff together and get a base starting area done up you will start seeing the a huge difference.
I like your stuff! It has a nice personal feel to it!
I too love pixel art as 2D art allows you to express actions with much more grandeur and explosiveness than 3D models (look at the old sprite art for street fighter games, and then look at the modern games now D: )!
I'm not a very good pixel artist, but I can say that your texturing is nice.
I can tell that your tree is a tree and that the ground is a ground. (Which is a milestone I've yet to pass if you ask me).
I'm glad to see more 2D rpg designers here btw.
I hope you aren't pulling too much of your hair out trying to get some things to work! :D
@twill14 i just picked up pixel art a few days ago but i know how to draw as it is which helps. but i dont usually pull my hair out any more when it comes to game development. i can code anything. only time i pull my hair out is when im trying to find a cause for a bug and it turns out to be a issue with the engine it self..
but as far as i can see i really liking the pixel art work flow . im learning everything as i go so i have had to remake my tiles a few times till they where just right . my land tiles where done 4 times till i figured out the best work flow for them. but now that i have got the hang of it everything should go quicker.
That dead sprite made me laugh, it could be macabre but the way is drawn (together with the background) doesn't make you feel negative at all. Good work!
About the game, is UE4 so much better than Unity for 2D games? I personally had (and i am having) good times with 2D side of Unity, how is it in other engine?
@Shadow_Fire thanks! the art was my biggest worry while doing this since its my first time doing pixel art.so its good to get a perspective from people artistic or not. but so far im liking how its going. and still have alot of things i need to draw as well.

A side question, your project in showcase made in Unity was completely abandoned or just stopped? I liked it very much!
