I saw that it was possible to make 2D styled games like platformers, but I was curious about if it was possible to create a Visual Novel with RPG elements included. For example the player would mouse click to locations they would go to ( Dungeons, Pubs, etc) as well as when in random encounters, they would click on the monsters they wish to attack or use skills against. This would also mean that mouse click/ keyboard presses would be how the player interacts with NPCs as with most Visual Novels. Since there isn't a standard movement system like you would set up for 3D/2D games I wasn't sure if it was possible within this framework and if so, how would I go about setting it up to avoid triggering any errors?
  • I'm sure that's possible, but the only barricade I foresee is the ability to save during events like character dialogue, in which visual novels should definitely have.
  • You're right and that would be another issue I would need to look into as well.
