How to equip a combatant using inventory

Hello everyone, am new to ork framework. Please am looking for how to equip my combatant using weapons and armors i have in my inventory. I mean how to turn on/off armors and equipment i have on my combatant when they are changed in the inventory. Thanks in advance

Since you're new to ORK, I'd strongly recommend going through the game tutorial series. The tutorials will teach you how to create a game with ORK Framework from start to finish, including changing equipment.

Usually, equipment is changed through an Equipment menu screen, but can also be done through an Inventory menu screen, or by assigning equipment to shortcut slots or control maps, etc.

@ gamingislove Thanks for your reply, i have gone through the tutorials, but am having problem with turning the weapons on and off appropriately when it is changed in the inventory. For instance, when am creating a weapon like "2 hand sword" which is a single weapon on its own (screen shot shown below) Under "equipment viewer setting", the "viewer prefab" and "viewer name" space provided is only meant for one prefab and one name, how do i add two weapon prefab and name to create a singular weapon equipped at left and right hand.

You can't set up multiple prefabs, there's only 1 prefab per equipment.

If your weapon is equipped at left+right hand at the same time, you need to set up the equipment viewer for both hands, each will display the prefab. For this, you need to set Equip Type to Multi and enable left hand and right hand in the Equipable On settings in the equipment's Equipment Settings.

@gamingislove . Later decided to use axe/hammer and shield in my project. Is it possible to create a single weapon(axe and shield), then equip two different prefabs on two different equipment parts like right hand for axe and left hand for shield. Thanks in advance

No, still 1 prefab per equipment :)

@gamingislove In that case, i thought about setting the shield active(using my own script. Also note that the shield has damage dealer), whenever the axe is equipped. I don't really know if this is a good idea, but another problem here is, it seems there is no method in combatant class and weapon class that i can use to check if a particular weapon is equipped. In other to activate my shield.

The only thing similar to this would be the Equip Requirements in equipment, where you could only allow equipping the shield when an axe is equipped ...
