Weapon in inventory

if I have a weapon in inventory and click on it---the combatant hud comes up and I have to click on that and then that weapon goes into my equipment menu screen---but it's removed from the inventory screen--I no longer see any weapon in my inventory.

Is that how it should be? : )

Using a weapon in the inventory will equip it - equipping it will remove it from the inventory and place it on the combatant's equipment part.
