Hi everyone, I very recently purchased ORK framework after about 2 weeks of messing and tampering around with the demo/freeware version. I'm so happy to find something like this exists, is still being maintained, and even more importantly has a friendly community of involved developers.

I used to work with RPG maker many many years ago, before it was even officially released in any official english version (95, 98, 2000) I was shocked to see that project still alive, and in English but my imagination has gotten much more vast then that since I last made a game on that engine. I tampered with Unity here and there over the years, but yearned for something that would help keep it all organized and had event planning similar to what I've used in the past, but more powerful.
Enter ORK framework, I still have a lot of "adapting" to do, but I've gotten to step 9 in the demo tutorial, to be honest, I think I get the framework better then I understand Unity lol.

So I'll be floating around reading as much as I can, learning what I can, and working on my dream franchise, I call it "AotR" I'd eventually like to have a few different variations of genre based on the world and story/sub stories that spawn from it. Such as: Standard RPG, Action RPG, Online micro squad battles (such as Hello heroes/Bravefrontier) I'm getting ahead of myself, got to release a game first.

Nice to meet everyone!

  • It stands for Age of the Realms, I don't want to spoil the story too much, but the main protagonists (brother and sister) Live in a world controlled mostly by two nations that are perpetually at war. Their kingdoms live on the north east, and south west peninsula's of the main land.

The main land is grouping of much smaller towns and cities with no affiliation to the two nations, and have bonded together whenever either of the two try to grasp for power in the mainland.

At a point in the game, the players discovers a way to travel across worlds, or "Realms" such as going from a wild wild west like world, and move into a Ancient Japan themed realm (not saying that exact example happens, many of the time its used to get past area's that are not available unless you traverse the realms.)

The goal is to make a compelling main game and world, then offshoot off of it into the other genre's of play
