I just wanted to say hello and that I just joined the Ork 2 family! After doing several hours of research, I decided to purchase. The updates from week to week since release have been very impressive. There's not a ton of documentation on the type of game I'm working on, but all of the pieces are there.

I would like to use these forums as a sort of accountability for my progress. At the moment we have a small team, my brother and myself, working on a 2.5d sidescroller action game called Displacement. Chronos, The God of Time, calls upon heroes of past to fight for him. That's all i'll say for now as I wanted to keep this short and sweet. Thanks for viewing and see you soon! : )

Joke aside, welcome. Hope to see more from you in the future.
  • Thanks guys, hope to show some stuff soon. I still have a day job, as most of us I'm assuming probably do. Except maybe GiL, I hear that guy is loaded. I'll start a work in progress page shortly and keep it updated. I like small group environments sharing opinions. That's sometimes hard to find on the interwebs nowadays. I'll go over all the source materials readily available on Ork 2 and figure out exactly how and what I'll be using on this project. I feel like Ork 2 has so many features that it would be easy to want to integrate many new features into an existing project , but I will try to resist that urge.. for now.
  • Hello and welcome.

There's a few unique challenges to trying to integrate ORK into a more action-based game, and especially 2D, but it's made pretty huge strides in overall flexibility since the ORK2 Beta. But generally you should expect to roll your own character controller solution, animator, and a few other things as well. Looking forward to seeing your project.
