Can only spawned battle party members take damage? Or is there a way to damage other party members? Thanks.

Having done my Omber update and thinking about our next game I'm focusing on battles.

  • Thanks but only my first person player spawns. Is there a way to damage the allies in my party who don't spawn? Or do I have to use a script/function? Thanks, WT.
  • if they dont spawn itll be kinda hard to do since you would need to have the combatant component on the prefab in order to get any kind of hp values by script. only thing i can suggest is to spawn empty prefabs with the component on it so you can deduct hp by script this way you dont up your frames and you can still deal damage to your allies. thats the only other way i can think of atm. you can also spawn your allies on the player as well so they move with the player. not sure what kind of battle system you have but this should work for all of them.

  • Unspawned members can currently not be damaged (or even targeted).
    I already have more options for this on my todo list, e.g. having the group leader represent the whole group.

    That would be absolutely great! Using first person I have a team that I don't want to spawn but want them to be able to die. :)

    Right now I get around that they can't die by calling them Undeads. :)

    If I spawn them I have to use auto attack and I want the player to have more control over when they attack by tapping on their icon which is a part of a hotbar.
