Greetings,

For some reason 2nd Call Closes does not close the Overview Menu. I use Escape to open the menu but cannot close it with a second Escape key press. I can use the Cancel Input Key which is right Ctrl at the moment.

I originally set up the Overview Menu with the tutorial. I did go back and re-read that portion of the tutorial to see if I missed anything and can't find anything that's amiss.

I did have a HUD control menu that could be clicked to open the Overview Menu, but now have it set to No Display. Does setting a HUD to No Display disable it from functioning? Or could it somehow be interfering with the 2nd Call Closes functionality? Just thought I'd toss that in there in an attempt to be thorough :)

Any ideas?

  • Working fine here, and the HUD shouldn't interfere here at all. Can you give me some details on your menu screen's setup?

    Sure, here are the settings I have the Overview menu screen:

    Base Settings:

    Settings
    Remember Selection: disabled
    Block Control: Enabled
    Block Control Maps: Enabled (tried both ways)
    Single Screen: Enabled
    2nd Call Closes: Enabled
    Close Only Focused: disabled
    Close Focus Lost: disabled

    Pause Settings
    Pause Game: Enabled (tried both ways)
    Pause Time: Disabled
    Freeze Pause: Enabled (tried both ways)

    Input Key Call
    Use Call Key: Enabled
    Input Key: Menu
    Use Required: Enabled
    Requirement: Menu Call

    Combatant Settings - all disabled

    Menu Part Change Keys
    Allow Change: disabled

    If you need other / more information, please let me know :)

    Also, in the Equipment menu > Equipment Box and Part Box Settings, I have Enable Tooltip enabled and have a menu setup for it. It displays just fine, but the tooltip does not disappear after a few seconds. Is there a way to set that?

    Quick sidebar question: Is there a Pause / Unpause Game event node? I couldn't seem to find one.

    I had to add that I really like ability to call events on menu open and close. It's very cool :) Just had to say that.

  • It's the Menu Call requirement from the original game tutorial as far as I can tell:

    Base Settings

    Required Game State
    In Control: Ignore
    Shop: No
    In Event: No
    Changing Scene: No
    Game Paused: No

    Battle Types
    In Battle: No

    Menu Screens
    Blocking Menu Screens: Ignore

    No variable conditions

    Group Requirements
    Only Battle Group: Enabled

    Nothing else is added or enabled
  • Set Game Paused to Ignore in the requirements. Since your menu screen pauses the game, this would otherwise disable the call key while the screen is opened.
