Battle Menu - use of sub-menu boxes

Hello,
i'm trying to do a battle menu like in 'Battle chasers' and i thought i could do it with the uses of sub-menu boxes. The issue is i want the original GUI Box to stay but it autoclose.
Also i thought of using Tabs but i didn't get how to uses them, did i miss it in the tutorial ?
