my RPG contains one character but for the most part i would like his skill tree to mimic that of borderlands/ Borderlands 2 is this possible out of the box or with tweaking?

It's possible to create something like this with Ability Trees (in the Status section of the editor).
Only a good graphical representation of such an ability tree is currently not possible out of the box - the menu screen to display ability trees currently only supports showing lists. This will change in future updates.
