Hello everyone,

With ORK I was able to make the game I have always wanted to make. This is my first-floor level.

The zoom button is numpad 0 and numpad 2

This is the google drive link, to play the first FLOOR:

ORK is great, it let me tell a really cool story. Please let me know what you think.

Thank you for the great program!

  • I played a bit of the first level - really great start!
  • I tested your game. I strongly recommend to optimize your game while you developing it. Great Start. GoodLuck!
  • Thank you for testing out my game.
  • Hello everyone,

I have a new video for the game. My computer ran the video recording software poorly so everything is a bit grainy and slow. I'm working on a new version now but this is the very first version.

Here is the link to download and play the revise version. Hope to get level 2 in a week or so.

Tried it out and it's a solid start!
It runs okay for me but I can tell the framerates struggling a bit, the scene might have too much complexity and that'll spell death for your full game, so you don't wanna put that off too long.

I noticed you also have the death animation issues I had where dead guys idle and don't go away, you can solve that by making the death animations a separate prefab that spawns by the death event while the main prefab gets deleted. You replace the combatant with a 'death dummy' on the same frame.
(This issue is caused because the enemy dies in mid-attack, but they are trying to finish a battle event, so they die but continue their battle event, and then go back to idle)

I think the camera could use some tweaking in general, are you intending this to be top down? Because I could give you advice on how to make the player aim towards the mouse if so.
https://youtu.be/Nw8Amzgp-tw?t=49 (old demo before I decided to go 3rd person)

Looks like all the combatants are trying to run towards the players center and they circle around you SUPER fast, you can solve that by adding a stopping distance in the moveAI. It made me laugh though, they are so fast.

I'm looking forward to seeing more :D

  • Thank you so much for playing the game and your input. I have to look more into getting the framerate issue down, that is a great tip especially now when its early on. I'll work on getting the death prefab set up soon that is also a great tip, I didn't know what was going on there.
The running around issue was definitely an issue, I tried a bunch of things but nothing was really working that well. I'll implement the stop AI with all of them now.

I'm not really sure about the camera, this was the best that I could come up with for now but any tip is appreciated. I love that aim toward the mouse, any advice you want to give would be appreciated.

Thanks for playing and commenting, I really appreciate it.

    Hello everyone,

Here is a new higher quality video:

I tried optimization this morning, its a bit better but there was still FPS issue when combat animation are playing. Not sure if its just my computer or some thing else. Any tip is appreciated.

    Thanks everyone

  • There are lot's of thing you can do to optimize. As an example, add "Occlusion culling" to your scene. This will drastically increase performance.
  • Thank you for the response, I'll look into this right now.

Thanks everyone looking forward to see great games from this system.
  • I think that really help. Intitally some frame I was getting 10-20 now I'm getting 20-40 FPS, its not great but that could be my computer.

    Thank you

    Huge update!

Hi everyone, huge update on my game now name Lost Soldiers. I'm working a lot on the RPG aspect of the game and it has been a lot of fun. I'm tying to make the game as RPG as possible and I'm thinking of adding in a blacksmithing shop and maybe a farming mehanic as well. Anything is possible with ORK so why not. You want to be a shop owning blacksmith, you got it, you want to be a farmer sure, and still more features to come.

Explore the Empire of Taral, a once highly militarized society led by their warrior ruling class the Taran, whom conquered their known world millennials ago. With no more world left to conquer the Taran numbers eventually deceased giving way to a feudal system of governance. Now Taral, a shadow of its former self in term of military capabilities, formally led by the Taran Emperor but it is the individual lords that hold the power, is under attack. The attack is orchestrated the Xingdari a mysterious race of magical beings that descended from the mountains that was once thought to be unhabitable by Taral. Play as the Prisoner, one of the last Taran, as they make their way out of the Taran heartland and restore the Taran to their former glory.

Two Faction: Perhaps Taral times its up, the empire is old and dying, maybe the Xingdari are a better bet to win this war. Pledge your allegiance to Taral or Xingdari and topple the other opposing empire.

Empire Building and Diplomacy: As a Taran lord you can build up your provinces and land however you want, acquire new land, build and upgrades building in those lands then witness your personal fiefdom prosper before your very eyes. A Taran greatest weapon might be their tongue, engage in diplomacy with other lords to gain powerful allies or loyal vassal, be wary thought not all lords like each other and befriending one over another can have grave consequences.

Headquarter: Invite other lords to your humble one story home or your gigantic villas to increase your relationship with them.

Three Classes: Play as the brutish warrior, versatile mage or crafty rogue. Each with their own abilities, bonuses and traits that effect how they interact with other characters. Each classes also come with 5 tiers of pickable talents to further distinguish your play style that can be gain through unique quests.
