How to change the player ratio when switching players using buttons?

I wanted the player to be half their normal size when I was on the world map, so I scaled the player when I was born. However, when the switch player button is used, the player is restored to its original size. How do I keep shrinking?

    I don't think this currently keeps the scale for the new player, I'll check it out.
