Hi guys.
I'm loving Ork3 and Makinom. However, as I'm new I've come across an early stumbling block.
My game will be 3d top down, turn based.
I have setup the Mecanim animations, and the movement ones are fine.
The others are for attack, punch defend etc.
I have set them up by key code eg; P key for punch. However, I obviously need to do something else as the key presses do nothing.
Any advice/help appreciated, and I apologise for such a noob question@
Chris
  • This can be done via control maps (Base/Control > Control Maps in the editor), where you can link input keys to actions like using a base attack, ability or item. Your combatant also needs to have those added to it's settings to make the available to the combatant.

The 3D Action RPG tutorials use them for attacking and other stuff, e.g. check out this part of the tutorial series..

  • Thanks for the reply. It is greatly appreciated. I confess to trying to pick the relevant parts from the various tutorials for my game, but seem to be getting in a mess!
    All in the learning process....

Thanks for all your work on Ork/Makinom.
  • I'd recommend to go through at least one of the quickstart tutorials from start to finish to learn the basics.
Or through the whole status system setup and playground series to touch on all major features.

Picking stuff from different series can work once you're down with the basics :)
