I was following the rpg playground tutorial and I discovered when the enemy does poison attack it attacks the main combatant and the effect is applied to another combatant and secondly the poison effect isn't working

Did you also do the status system setup tutorials or downloaded the completed setup?

If you've done the tutorials, I'd recommend to first check if you've done the setup for that ability and effect correctly.
