I am releasing my game Old School RPG on Steam August 12th. This project originally began in 2020 using ORK 2, but I decided to upgrade it to ORK 3 about halfway through. The conversion was a lot of work, but ORK 3 is awesome so it was worth it.

It is inspired by RPG games from the 90s including Might & Magic, Wizardry and The original Bard's Tale series. While those games were ahead of their time, Old School RPG is behind it's time.

Gameplay includes an open world and dungeon crawling experience.

Featuring: Party Based, Class Based, First Person Perspective, Real Time Movement, Turn Based Combat, Dungeons, Puzzles, Traps & more!

14 Classes to choose from including Barbarian, Dark Knight, Fighter, Paladin, Elementalist, Mage, Necromancer, Warlock, Cleric, Druid, Mystic, Bard, Ranger, and Rogue

13 Races to choose from including Dwarf, Elf, Gnome, Goblin, Grimace, Half-Elf, Halfling, Half-Orc, Human, Kobold, Lizardman, Minotaur, and Orc

  • I'm not sure how to do that off hand. Will have to research that. I'm guessing it's something that can be added through Unity though.
  • There is language export/import functionality available.
Basically just export all your texts as CSV files, add language texts to it and import it back.

  • This looks amazing. There is a tremendous amount of functionality in Ork Framework.

I should have some time this weekend to test this out. It looks like I can export my language data then use Google docs to translate the files to various languages.

  • Just got a chance to look this over more. I see how to export the 4 CSV files. I'm not sure I understand exactly what to do next. How do I add language texts to it?
  • Well, the CSV files contain information on where those texts come from and the already available texts and languages.

The CSV file can e.g. be opened or imported into Excel or other table-editing programs, where you can add the texts for other languages.
Or e.g. using google docs and auto translate stuff into a new column.

When you're done, save it as a CSV again and import that in the editor. The crucial thing is to keep the export IDs, since that's what is used to find the correct settings.
