Hey Gil,
Ive only noticed this in this one scene, so I'm not sure what's going on.
My monsters spawn and join the battle. Before I do anything, I checked the monster's Battle information, and IN BATTLE is set to True - but I cannot see what cell they are actually on to investigate further.

So what happens, I move along, all other monsters move as well - except this one. Then suddenly, about 4 turns in they warp to another part of the map. I've deleted and re-created the Spawn point, but it still happens - only in that one portion of the map.

Any idea what's going on - or able to advise what to check to see what's going on?
  • Might be that they're out of battle or AI range ... check the Range Settings in Battles > Battle System > General Settings. For a project like this, you most likely don't want to use limited ranges anyway, so you can disable them in case they're enabled.

  • It doesn't look like i've got any range settings turned on.

  • Hm, is the combatant actually placed at the cell it's spawned at?
    E.g. during playtesting, the cells show which combatant is on them.

  • Hmm, no it's not.
    I tried moving it down one block, but it still wasn't on the grid, and i could't see which cell it was on either.
    I kept trying new positions, and eventually it spawned, and was on 2 cells further away (eg it spawned on 4,25 - but was located on 4,27). I tried this a few more times, and it appears to be somewhere within 2 grid spaced.
    I moved the spawner to another "island" on the grid, and it was no-where to be found again.
    So I moved the spawner to the larger island, where i've had success with other spawners, and it works just fine.

    This image of grid cells shows they are all "ground" cells - I was't trying to spawn on blocked cells.

  • How is grid placement handled? E.g. should usually be done in your battle start schematic. Just spawning a combatant doesn't place it on a grid cell :)
