Selectable initial variable for formulas.

It would be great to have selectable origin of initial value for formula value type.
Say we have a formula which takes initial value and multiplies it by 2.
If I want to use this formula multiple times I need a way to pass initial value driven by what ever variable I choose.
But now I can only pass const value. It limits reusing of formula drasticly.
