You're right. The experience text was hard-coded. However! Having fixed that, Job Points are still leveling my character rather than my job. I'm 110% certain that the values are set to level the appropriate levels.
It would be helpful.
Now, I'm having a problem with Experience and Class experience. I have them both set up with 'level up' and 'class level up' respectively, but for some reason when I try to award my character with these points, they receive two…
I figured you might want to know about this. At the start of my game, I immediately add the player character and make him so, then in another event that starts pretty much just afterwards, I add another two separate characters.
This happens most o…
Another thing to check- the animations themselves. I was having issues with things like idle and run, and it turned out they weren't set to 'loop'. I also played around with the default layer settings to give some animations extremely high priority …
Awesome dude. Thanks for the quick reply :D
Oh, just to clarify (since I've never updated before), to update, I just need to re-import the package downloaded off the home page right? I'll still have full access- it'll still recognise my having purc…
I'm pretty sure that you can do this through the node editor, once you're accustomed to the kit.
You'd need to call some Gui boxes with choices, I also think that naming combatants is in there somewhere...
Thanks for that GiL!
I tried setting up an equipment-based class changing system (the character equips an orb) but at the time I didn't know that changing class changes all your equipment.
So I've compromised and gone for items that are not consu…
Yeah perhaps so. I'm thinking of utilising some sort of temple or something that allows a character to assign classes. I expect it'd be pretty easy through the event system and branching dialogue, as long as I don't have too many characters, haha.
Hey LordHogFred, in the spirit of sharing, GiL already gave me a good idea of how to do this, so I'll run you through it!
You'll need a battle arena scene, of course, with a spawn point.
Now, in your battle start event, add a 'store scene' to remem…
Oh, I figured out (somewhat) the issue with the battle arena scene. It seems that when I use it on 'combatant spawners', they don't transport to the battle arena. But when I use random battle arenas, they are spawned in the arena just fine.
For no…
I'd like to add them as group members (with AI control), but get them to spawn right beside their associated playable character. Is there an efficient way to do this? Some sort of 'check combatant position' or something?
I did indeed put 'spawn combatants' after the 'load scene'. My own party will spawn, but they'll just stand there waiting for something to bash to death (in this case a spider placeholder). I'll have another crack at it tonight; perhaps there is som…
Hey GiL! Rather than keep spamming the forum with new topics every other day (and apologies for posting questions constantly) I'll just keep adding to this one.
First, I got the 'teleport to battle scene' event working, that I mentioned in my last …
