you were right, it was my attack event. I'm not sure what was wrong with it yet, but I took it out and everything is working now. I'll go back and redo it and see what happens.
Thanks GiL
yeah, that was it, I didn't enter them into the start event. I kind of realized that last night in bed, but you confirmed it and I fixed it today. Thanks, man.
I've been trying to get Mechanim to work. But I don't really know what I'm doing. I have it set so when it spawns the player, the idle is playing, but I can't get it to play animations during battle. I've entered them in to the base controls but …
oh man I can't believe i forgot to add the scenes into the build settings! Stupid me. See, last time I built my project on top of the tutorial, and this time I'm not.
thanks!
so any ability I put in there is accessible via control map? that's pretty powerful. how do I edit the attack index, or is that just the same as abilities, but referenced differently?
yeah, slowing down the combat is definitely where to go. I hadn't considered combos, that's a good idea... a couple punches leading to a stun and opening up the enemy to better attacks would be pretty cool. taking advantage of Ork's status effect…
that's a good idea, I actually hadn't really considered attacking consuming something. I think if I slowed it down a little as well as added a gauge that regulated that, I would have something a little better.
I've played some of the more recent…
yeah, you're right, it's about making it feel GOOD, which i haven't accomplished yet. I've got it up and running, which I have to admit, I wasn't sure I'd be able to do, but now I'm moving on to the next step of tweaking. I think the first thing I…
yeah that's what it seems like, I'll look it up. I'm sure I'm not the first person to have this problem. Frustrating though.
By the way, your game looks great, Kirb!
I was using turnbased. I have a couple ideas why it's not working, but what I did now is start the project over and I'm rebuilding it -- there was a lot of junk in it as it was sort of a sketchpad for a 2D game. I'm gonna give it a shot again and …
my settings are the same as you have in the tutorial, but I just disabled the gravity, and it started working. I don't really need gravity in my game, I don't think, but then again I could be wrong. ;)
I have controller move enabled. I've been th…
ok, now I've taken gravity off everything related to my player, and it seems to be working. I guess i don't really need gravity anyway. but for now -- it's working. Hopefully, it will stay that way.
it's really weird. I looked at the player during the battle, and he moves 6 points down Y as he attacks, and then another six as he returns to base. So in a move it's 12 points down Y. Attack again, and he does the same thing, moving a total of 1…
I'm still having problems with this. I do notice differences if I place the battle spots on the ground. this first video shows if I DO place it on the ground, leading me to the problem:
and this one shows if I don't.
as you can see if he i…
