ORK 4 BETA 2
BETA 2 is here, so head over to the ORK 4 BETA page and grab it.
The most important changes:
1) The settings list now shows a sub-foldout hierarchy (depth controlable via a slider at the bottom) for a selected main settings foldout. The buttons and sub-foldout hierarchy are affected by changed foldout colors.
2) 2 sub-sections have been added and 2 removed.
Battles > Battle Actions combines action-related settings from other sections: default use range, ability/item cast, delay and reuse times, ability/item start and end battle animations as well as action info notifications.
Battles > Special Commands combines settings for defend, escape and other special actions: content definition, battle animations and for defend the default block rate and escape the default escape chance.
Removed sections: Battles > Battle Animations and Texts > Battle Texts, since all of their settings are now found in the 2 new sections.
3) Schematic editor now also uses CTRL + Space, bringing up the context menu.
4) The old Options menu, i.e. the value input dialogue that was available in start menu and menu screens has been removed. Use the Options (Categories) instead - no need for 2 separate option menus :)
Schematics still have the Value Option Dialogue available.
5) UI schematics (UI boxes, HUDs and UI backgrounds) combined the before/after open schematics to open schematics and before/after close schematics to close schematics. So, 2 schematics instead of 4, one for opening and one for closing.
The feature that made a split into before and after opening/closing useful was already removed in the first beta (i.e. being able to set up animations in the UI components).
Documentation, Tutorials and Extensions
I've also been busy writing. you can find the ORK 4 guide here.
Beside the documentation, there is a complete ORK 4 Quickstart 3D tutorial series available.
The extensions now also have their own pages, and the ORK extension manager is available in Unity to download plugins, scripts, prefabs and setups.
@dewsap
There will be an upgrade fee to ORK 4 - not sure on the pricing structure yet. There might be a free upgrade with a very short grace period though, but not longer than 2 months before ORK 4 release in September.
@Krixus
1) If you've imported ORK 4 into an ORK 3 project it might collide with the Makinom editor call.
2) Hard to say without really testing Unity 7 and what it requires to change.
So, we'll see when it's here :)
3) I'll check it out once I have the time for it.
Thanks for compiling it for me.
