So when my combatants die it's really important that their character controller gets deleted. I tried having a remove component "character controller" on the death event but it hasn't worked at all.
The reason is that when they die I want their bodies to remain, but the collider to delete. So they don't act as passive obstacles.
Make sure you define the name of the component correctly, e.g. the character controller's class name is CharacterController.
