@GIL ... I started this post because i dont think GIL gets enough appreciation for all his hard work. I my self came from plygame which is nothing compared to ORk. I dont like bad mouthing people but for me when i buy a product of any kind i expect the person who created that product to strive to improve it all the time in till something better is created to take its place. But GIL man you go a step and beyond with your hard work not only do you take input from your community but your there to help us out when we have questions.

So Thank you GIl for all your hard work!

Agreed, GiL has been fantastic; and if anybody hasn't rated ORK2 in the asset store I recommend you do so.

  • Agree with the rest. I began using Ork after 1-2 weeks of learning Unity (I know, bad idea XD), but GiL have been really helpful, and I appreciate him for that and the time and efforts he put into Ork.

Of all the RPG editors that are out there for Unity---and I've tried most of them except for Plygame----before settling on ORK-----this is still the best one in my humble opinion.

And I've really come to appreciate developers' help with their products--I've had good help and bad help but never so much good help as here.

And realize that you do all this while working on new projects--that's not easy.

  • you should be glad u didnt waste money on plygame... youd be lucky to get a tut on how to do something from the developer. the system just is nothing compared to ork. the only thing its good for is splash screens :p i mean last i checked is that for a no scripting system he writing a c script inventory system instead of fixing the gui editor in his system.... to me that shows no intention of actually improving his own systems... anyways ORK Is the god of rpg engines its like RPG maker vx ace but 100 times better. ^^

  • I don't even know how GiL does it, but I'm infinitely glad he does. :D

I did try out RPG Maker several months before running across ORK, especially since I'm making a 2D game, but you need to get like 43 plugins before that tool can do anything worthwhile. Even when you do, it just doesn't compare.

And like Shadow_Fire, I got into ORK immediately after Unity. Even though there are still so, so many things I don't know, it never ceases to amaze me how much I can get done. =)

  • agreed, i learned so much to the point that i'm focusing towards the storyline & gameplay rather than programming .
  • I appreciate the appreciation :)
Please consider rating/reviewing my products on the Asset Store (hopefully positively), as that helps tremendously with getting found.

  • Indeed! GiL does an amazing job. Besides creating a very comprehensive framework and editor, his tutorials really impressed me when I first stated using ORK. Good documentation is so important and GiL explains the various concepts very well.

I once heard being a developer is somewhat like the phone company. No one ever contacts the phone company when the service is great, only when something isn't working. So thanks for the great, consistent dial tone and call clarity! ;-)
  • BIG THANKS! Crucial part in my game! Using ORK heavily. Tons of features!

    AWESOME STUFF!!
