Thanks. : ) Yes, .99 is too cheap for it. But that's OK. We wanted to generate a following for our next game--our China expansion---which will be a little more than .99 and we basically enjoy making games and know we have to compete with the Free to Play games in the App Store.
And, let's face it, I don't know how to do IN APP PURCHASES yet in ORK.
: ) On the to do list.
: ) So we wanted to make a lovely rpg game with many quests that will encourage people to be thrilled about our China game. : )
The music, I think, is very captivating and the story very good.
And I love everything I was able to do with the ORK Framework. I know I didn't push it as far as it can go. In fact, I touched lightly on all its capabilities but that's because I was struggling with Unity's new IL2CPP editor and its problems which are basically just about solved.
gratz cata! wish i could say that mine was done but its far from it atm. even redoing the battle system since Makinom has come out. cant wait to see your next project!
You'll get there. I have complete faith in you. You actually taught me a lot about the need to have beautiful graphics in your intro. I really was inspired by some of the demos from the community here. : ) Never did voice overs before--you got me going in that direction. And it adds a nice touch.
There were a lot of times I didn't think we'd make it--one--the huge file size a 64 bit universal game creates because it contains 2 binaries. The Omber app is about 425 mb.
Two--the link to my website--I thought for sure, it would be shot down--that was just irrational worry.
Three--the fact that I'd never built a game using IL2CPP before--it generates 365 benign error messages about value conversions. Shudder.
im more nitpicky then anything. i cant just "scatter" i hand place all my objects. takes for ever but the results when your done is great. lol i cant even get 425mb's with my game its around 1 gig atm. anyways cata cant wait to see more gl!
Just a note--every betatester absolutely loved the ORK Navigator---none of them wanted a minimap. They all felt the Navigator gave them more information. So that's a Go in our next game. : )
I also like navbars more than minimaps - gives you more the feeling of being an explorer :D
Please consider rating/reviewing my products on the Asset Store (hopefully positively), as that helps tremendously with getting found. If you're enjoying my products, updates and support, please consider supporting me on patreon.com!
Congrats on the launch..... yes, 0.99 is insanely cheap for a long(ish) RPG. :) I thought about the in-app purchase route myself, but players these days tend to see it as disenginous. At least on the tried and true PC/Mac platform. So I'll charge a flat $9.99 I think.
ill probably be charging 19.99... least thats what im aiming for but really depends on what first reactions are when i reveal all the changes an stuff for it. Going to get cata an gil to beta test for me :P
We have a thread now posted by someone at Touch Arcade which is a very important place for ios games. If you've tried our game and like it, please also post your impressions there. It's very, very important for promoting games.
Here is the most recent post in that thread and I'm so delighted---By a Moderator, no less. : )
"Just downloaded it. Really impressed, its a nice nod to old skool RPG's, seems to be quite a huge land to explore. Touch controls work well. Only had a quick go talking to some characters, finding out about various missions etc. It reminds me of some old skool RPG's on iOS a few years back, thats not negative, thats positive as i love the 'old skool' vibe from this one.
For a dollar its well worth it, a great homebrew title"
Kim Kardashian had an app out for 0.99 cents and it was pretty big so maybe our price module might not be so bad after all. : ) Anyway, we just like making games and hope people will enjoy them. : )
