Ive been game developing for a few years now. And after trying my damnedest to work around some of unity's quirks related to graphics and performance issues. i dropped unity all together. and left quite a few projects undone due to this. Now that unreal has done alot of the work i wanted unity to do, i switched over to unreal engine an completely dropped Unity all together.
I restarted my Sora, A Tale Of A Hero Project From Scratch Inside Unreal with Hand Painted Stylized Graphics. This is a slow process due to my Game Dev job taking Up most of my time. But i have been slowly putting things together from world design to the coding.
The Game it self will be a semi open world with the exceptions of Caves and houses and other buildings that you will be able to enter.
More info will come later when i finish more of the game and am able to make a game play vid. work in progress of the main character Sora. this is modeled by me .

@Phesant33@Catacomber Thanks! Yeah still have alot of work to do from modeling particles effects coding ect. but i think when its gets in its playable early stages itll be a pretty fun game to play.
Here's a sneak peak of the in game character menu I'm working on. All code for drag and drop inventory is already done just trying to finalize my layout.
Finally got some base ai set up this past week along with work on player point an click attacking. planning to have left click targeting. to make it so the players have to be paying attention. kind like how league of legends point an click system works where u have to make sure ur mouse is on the right side of the character when firing off skill shots. By doing things this way players will have the options to kite monsters with spell cast as well as fighting toe to toe with basic attacks.its actually quite a interesting system to make so cant wait to tackle it tomorrow.
OK I got mad at all those assets u can by from the asset stores and decided it was time for me to stop being lazy and model my own shit. So here is the start of the main character Sora

Also updated first post pics since every thing is being redone with custom shit. tell me what u think.. still going for a stylized look. this model has not been painted yet since ill be hand painting all the new assets and going for a mix of fantasy / scifi.
@Phesant33 Still working on the hair gonna try to get it done after work the next few days. then ill start pumping out the buildings and props before i start working on the rest of the npcs
It is damn nice for 1 month of modeling man... I am not even considering modeling my self cause the whole project will take years... but good job there.
Intriguing! I think you should be pleased with how its shaping up. Do you have a particular architectural look in mind? Are you still intending to use the environment that you posted in your earlier screenshots?
@dlevel thanks! @stuart no just my terrain i made is going to stay the same all props and other stuff will be replaced with custom models. for actual design its all from my head but more of a scfi fantasy style
did some more work on the guild hall for the home town. its finally to a point to where im just adding small details to it. should be finished in the next few weeks. since im taking a small break from pixel art atm.
